CONFERENCE CALL

PROJEKT
Die Band Conference Call existiert seit 1998 und geht zurück auf die Zeit als Ullmann und Michael Stevens in Park Slope (Brooklyn) Nachbarn waren. In Kritiken wird sie als Organismus bezeichnet der komplex und ausbalanciert in einem Moment und voller Feuer im nächsten ist. Ein Organismus, der sich in allen Dimensionen und zudem in der eigenen Zeit und derjenigen der Musikgeschichte hin und her bewegt.

Über die Jahre hat sich ein einzigartiger Bandsound etabliert und das Quartett wird in den USA in letzter Zeit häufig als eine der führenden working units des zeitgenössischen Jazz bezeichnet.

Conference Call ist ein kooperatives Projekt und mit 10 CD Veröffentlichungen und über 20 Tourneen auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks eine von Gebhard Ullmann’s aktivsten Bands.

UPDATE
Seit 2021 hat der bekannte deutsche Pianist Uwe Oberg aus Wiesbaden den Pianostuhl übernommen.
